Friday Selfdev Days

In September 2018 I started doing four-day work weeks at Leanware. I’ve been a software specialist there for two years now. I develop warehouse management systems with my team. I wanted to have more time for my own projects and also to develop my skills. I feel my job doesn’t give me everything I want – and need. After two years, the tasks start to feel quite similar to each other. I don’t feel like I learn that much technical stuff anymore. And especially, my current job does not satisfy my artistic and creative side. So I needed time to express myself. However, I like the financial security of having a permanent paid work so I didn’t want to take the leap of starting my own business, at least yet... I am grateful to Leanware that I could easily change to a four-day work week!

My Selfdev Office

On selfdev days every Friday I work at home. I develop software and myself. I sleep a little longer (I am not a morning person…), but can work late until the night. So far I’ve created my website, which you are visiting now, and I continued developing Image Archivist to a beta version. I am also planning to continue developing my game which has been on hold. I also want to learn VR. I went to see teamLab’s exhibition in Amos Rex and now I want to make my own art exhibition but in virtual reality.

To this blog I’m going to write about the projects I am doing: about their process and features, and how I’ve solved problems related to them. I will also write about my life from the point of view of games and IT.

Fun fact: I rarely dring coffee but when I do I like that it has been standing there for a couple of hours so it’s cold, and the glass is half coffee half milk.
